holiday concert

This year Christina was in the school choir. She's been staying after school two days a week
to practice for a holiday concert. There were 90 kids tonight for a concert. They sung many great Christmas songs and even had a chime ensemble. A few kids had solo parts although one boy's solo consisted of only saying Ho, Ho, Ho. I think Christina isn't ready to sing a solo. However, They were all GREAT tonight and everyone had fun!

winter

Early morning, tip of my nose feels the chill in the air, put on my old red cardigan to start a day. The trees are all bare and noticed the signs for fire wood for sale by the road.

I'm not sure where I was when all this happened. Another year has almost passed by and I'm reading this book again, must be winter is here.

Winter - note from Montana.

I LOVE this book. Every winter I've been reading the same book for last 19 years. It feels like the first time every time I read it. I love how he tells a day by day story and love the drawings by his wife Elizabeth too. warm and comforting.

Once I map out a plan how to get to Yaak, Montana from Ohio.

I don't think I can visit anytime soon but once in a while I get a glimpse of it from Knitting Iris's blog.

Tell you the truth, I'm NOT a outdoor person. I guess I'm just nostalgic for simple life in the woods even though I know it from bottom of my heart that I can never leap out of the city life. Someday, I hope I have enough courage to try out living in the woods.

When it happens, I think it'll be a good dose of medicine that I need.

apron

A few weeks ago my mother-in-law asked me to make a new apron that she can use for a church activity. She wanted a wide shoulder and wide chest to cover....etc

When I got home and googled apron patterns and I finally found the design that she wanted. I went to their site and check out the pattern. I could not believe my eyes.

Can you guess the name of the pattern? It's called Church Ladies Apron by Mary Mulari. LOLI couldn't stop laughing. How unreal. Right design for right occasion.

I think she is very happy with her new apron !

sister

Over the weekend my little sister came to visit us (actually you know she is my twin sister but I am a bit older). We had a great time together. Christina was having fun watching us how we do the same things. We can drink things at the same time - pick up the cup, sip, put it down. Like a synchronize swimmers. LOL

I'm so glad she came to visit us even though it was just a few days.
Anywho, before she left she gave me this book for me to read - the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society . She said I need more books in the house .
As long as I can remember she was always the reader.
Once she even got an award for reading a lot of books in Junior high. She can tell you the title of the book just by a page out of the book. YES, she is very good at that.
Me on the other hand, I basically read one whenever she send me a book. She is like a Amazon books.com monthly program system :-)
So far it's a very interesting book. I hate dragging books that take forever to get to the main event. Not this one. I'm enjoying it very much.

A few weeks ago my dear friend Paivi who lives in Finland came up with a wonderful idea. She said we should fix the same meal from the same cookbook on same day.

I have to tell you it was the most fun I ever had for a long time in the kitchen.

Our first meal was Veal Involtini from Apples for Jam cookbook.

You have to try it. It was yum yum yummy.

I love the melting mozzarella cheese with saltines of ham covered in tomato sauce.

What a dinner!

Country Living Fair 2009

Country Living Fair. You've done it again. Yeah !!!!

What a wonderful Fair it was. We had a great time :-) Especially Christina.

She was in shopping spree.

They had many great shops and many new shops too.

I got to see a few Etsy sellers in action this time.

I think we spent most of our time waiting to see all the pretty goodies at the McMaster and Storm tent. I had to keep on picking up and put it down and pick up a new pretty thing and turn around and pick up another one....... I wish I could get all of them.

I hope they have 2010 Fair at the same place. I think it's an excellent place to have.
Great location , BIG space, easy to in and out from the Interstate.

We had a great time. I wish you were there with us. It would have been a blast.

anniversary

I guess it has been a LONG time since our last post. Sorry folks.

Just like Sugarland's song. It happens LOL :-)

It has been a great summer for us. Unfortunately summer seems moving away rather quicker than we wanted. Maybe we should move to south so we can stay warm all year around. I think that would be an excellent idea but I don't think it won't happen any time soon.
